About The Area

Inland lakes

Just slightly inland from Georgian Bay and Honey Harbour, there are multiple lakes with calmer waters and views that rival any other in the area. The two most prominent are Go Home Lake and Six Mile Lake.

Six Mile Lake is primarily known for it’s provincial park. The calm waters of the lake are perfect for swimming, canoeing, fishing, and scenic hiking.

Go Home Lake was created in the 1950s by the construction of 2 dams. The lake is approximately 8km long, and ranges in width. The lake is fed by the Musquash River and the Go Home River, both of which empty into Georgian Bay. The result of these dams are beautiful waterfalls which allow for great picnics and canoe portages during the summer as well as a destination for winter snowmobiling and snow shoeing.
